A Country Divided

This country is so divided that nobody gives an inch on their positions and there are no consensus decisions. A country so fractured is vulnerable to rulers who prey on this divisiveness and even exploit it for their own gain. They then rise to power and keep the conflict going because it benefits them. It would be great to have leaders that remind us of the things we have in common.

Have you heard? The media seems to think that Britney Spears is more important than anything happening anywhere else. I'm glad nothing else is happening in our country that requires the media attention. Keep partying Britney, the news will keep us informed. Remember, democracy only happens if there is an informed electorate.
